How To Add a Hit Counter
A hit counter is a numeric counter that displays the
number of users who have visited your website.
(You may only use this feature if publishing to a
FrontPage enabled
server.)
Note: The hit counter functions properly in
Netscape 3 and later as well as IE 3 and later.
To insert a hit counter
- In Page View, click where you want to create the Hit Counter
- From the Insert menu, select Web
Component...
The Insert Web Component dialogue box is
displayed.
- From the Component type: box, select Hit
Counter
- From the Choose a counter style: box, select a
counter style
- Click Finish
The Hit Counter Properties dialogue box is
displayed.

- If necessary you can change the counter style that you have
chosen
These are GIF pictures containing the digits zero
through nine.
- To reset the hit counter click Reset counter to
and enter the number to reset the counter to
- Click OK
The Hit Counter is inserted into the page. However,
it is not viewable as a hit counter until the web site has been
published. Once the web site has been published, you can use the
Preview in Browser command to test the hit counter. |
