Create a Page Template

A page template is a pre-designed page that can contain page settings, formatting, and page elements. You can create your own page templates so that you can create pages for your web quickly and consistently.  This is particularly useful for preparing many pages that are similar.

  1. Create a page that includes the page settings and elements that you want in the template. For example, create a page that includes company logo, generic text, comments, etc.
  2. Click Save As on the File menu.
  3. In the Save as type box, click FrontPage Template (*.tem).
  4. Click Save.
  5. In the Title box, type a title for the template, which will appear with the standard templates on the General tab in the New dialog box.
  6. In the Name box, type the file name of the template. FrontPage will automatically use the correct extension.
  7. In the Description box, type a description of the template.
  8. Click OK
