Reverse-publishing is the process of publishing a
Web site from a remote server to your local computer.
To publish your Web site from the server to your local computer using
FrontPage, perform the following steps:
The following steps were created using FrontPage 2000. Depending on the
version you are using, the steps may be different.
From the Start menu, select
Programs, click
Microsoft FrontPage.

From the File drop-down menu,
click Open Web.

From the Open File dialog box,
in the File
name box, enter your domain
name.
In this example http://www.forexample-domain.com
is used.

Alternatively, you can enter your IP address (e.g.,
10.10.010.10).
Click Open.
From the Enter Network Password
dialog box, enter your User name
and Password.

Click OK.
From the Open Web dialog box,
click Open.

Your Web site will open in FrontPage.

From the File menu, click
Publish Web.

From the Publish Web dialog box,
click Browse.

Browse to the location into which you want to publish your Web site,
click Publish.

Verify the location for your Web files, click
Open.

You will see a series of windows indicating that FrontPage is publishing
the selected Web files.

When you receive the message Web site
published successfully, click
Done.

Alternatively, click Click here to view
your published web site to open your Web site.
If you receive one of the following messages,
"FrontPage needs to convert this folder into new Web...," or
"The following pages contain Dynamic
Components...," click Yes. |
